Being able to travel on holiday with your loved ones is one of the joys of the year and it can be something we all really look forward to throughout the summer. However, you might not always have enough money to fund the trip away and this can lead you to not go away at all. However, there are so helpful ways that you can still enjoy a holiday on a budget with the family this year.

Think money savvy and get a credit card

When you are thinking of going on holiday and you are worried about having the funds it could simply be a case that you aren’t due to be paid for a while, and this is where you can get yourself a travel credit card for a while. The beauty of a credit card is to build and repair any bad credit you have (which you can read about here https://repair.credit/best-credit-repair-companies/) and it will allow you to not bring cash along with you during your stay. Consider one of the many travel credit cards for your trip abroad and you can even get cash back rewards for using it.

Go camping

If in doubt, go camping! Of course, camping might not be your immediate idea of a perfect holiday but it can actually be a really great way to bond with your family away from technology. Tents and campsite plots are cheap so you can spend a week exploring the countryside with your family and enjoying the comradery of sitting together around the fire toasting marshmallows.

Have a staycation

If you don’t have the money to be booking a stay at a hotel or in a cottage, you can simply stay at home for a week and go for days out in the local country. Driving for a few hours each morning can bring you to wonderful places and you can enjoy trips to the beach, the zoo, hikes and even city trips for shopping and the museum as well are other ideas like these last minute ideas!

The beauty of this is that you all get to come home at the end of the day and chill out in your own space, no packing required!

Go self-catering

If you want to get away from your home for a while and find somewhere either in another part of the country or abroad, you will want to make sure that you go self catering. A lot of the time cottages and houses will be cheaper than hotels and you can think about eating whatever you want whenever you want and you don’t have to worry about things like curfews etc… it can be a much more fun holiday for less money and you have more freedom.

Cheap activities

For a cheap holiday you need to think of activities which don’t cost too much money. Things like theme parks and resorts cost a pretty penny, so you will want to find other things to do with your time. Trips to the beach, walks in national parks and museums are all free and they can be great ways to spend your time.
