If you’re headed to Wildwood for a vacation getaway, you have to stop by Wildwood Beach to soak up some sun. The 5-mile stretch of beach is the perfect spot for relaxing, and it’s fun for the entire family. Depending on when you visit, you’ll likely find activities that you can watch or participate in like sand sculpting competitions, live music, and the Wildwoods International Kite Festival. There’s even a dog park section on the shore.

Wildwood Boardwalk

You can’t visit Wildwood without hanging out on the boardwalk; it’s one of the biggest attractions in the city, stretching 38 blocks. Packed with shops, restaurants, live entertainment, and amusement piers, it’s impossible not to find family-friendly activities. To see the entire boardwalk, you can rent and ride bikes until noon, or you can use the Sightseer Tram Car that will take you across the 2-mile trek. After relaxing on the beach for a while, take to the boardwalk for fun and entertainment — there’s always something happening.

The entire Wildwood Boardwalk is family-friendly, but if you’re looking for experiences tailored toward kids, Morey’s Pier is your best bet. No amusement park would be complete without classic rides like merry-go-rounds, bumper cars, and train rides, but those are just a few of over a dozen rides for kids. If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, you can check out some of the adult attractions like the roller coasters, haunted houses, or go-karts.

Ocean Oasis

Just behind Surfside Pier on the Wildwood Boardwalk, you can find an unexpected tropical haven: the Ocean Oasis Water Park. While the Wildwood Beach is great, Ocean Oasis is a completely different kind of water experience. In the park, you can find a five-story cliff dive, a six-lane racing slide, and Bonsai Beach, which is a play area with water jets and rope courses. If you’re feeling drained, you can relax in your own private cabana around a fire pit or hop in the lazy river to float on for hours.

While Wildwood, New Jersey may not be the first place you think of for a family vacation, there are definitely tons of attractions for everyone. Head to the beach, take a walk down the 2-mile boardwalk, or get soaked at the water park.
