The Eagle Restaurant Review: Short North Pub

The Eagle Restaurant Review: Short North Pub

I fell in love with Columbus, OH during our time there. It is honestly one of my favorite places we have ever been. The best part of down was the Short North District! We had so much fun here.

While checking out the Short North District we of course had to stop off for some food! We decided to have dinner at The Eagle which by was highly recommended on Pinterest! Here is what we thought!

The Atmosphere

When you first get here the outdoor seating is perfect for grabbing a drink and people watching. Right in the heart of the Short North District you are right in the action and can see all the people walking around.

If you haven’t realized this from other restaurant reviews, I am a sucker for outdoor seating. Like it automatically adds points to any restaurant. So right away I knew it was my type of place to hang out!

The Food

First, we started off with some drinks! They had White Claws which is a total win for me. Tyrell tried a local brew and said he loved it! The food here is comfort food which who doesn’t love comfort food?!

I ordered the 1/4 white meat chicken with a side of Mac N Cheese. *Chicken & macaroni, chillin’ with my homies!* If you understand this reference let’s be friends! Okay, back to the food! Tyrell ordered the Friend Chicken BLT with a side of Horseradish Mashed Potatoes.

The chicken was so delicious! Perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. And honestly, I am probably not the right person to judge Mac n cheese because I love every single Mac I’ve ever come across. But let me tell you that this Mac n Cheese was EXTRA delicious! The perfect buttery pasta with all the cheese and baked perfectly!

Tyrell’s sandwich was loaded with all the BLT goodness on top of fried chicken. Like why have we never done this before?! Tyrell not only loved every single bite but it filled him up! Usually after a BLT he is still starving. This sandwich was filling and delicious.

He was a little worried about the horseradish mashed potatoes because he doesn’t LOVE horseradish. He likes it in small doses but it isn’t necessarily his favorite. But it had just the right amount of kick from the horseradish without being overpowering! Cheers to good recipes because this was so good!

Was it worth it?

First of all, if I lived in Columbus I would spend every single day/night out in the Short North District. The whole area is so fun and my type of place! I would absolutely eat at The Eagle again and again! Should I eat fried chicken and Mac n cheese every day? No. Would it be absolutely delicious? Yes.

If you are in the area and haven’t tried The Eagle, go right now! And anyone visiting the area needs to go to Short North because it is just the best downtown strip!
