Spring Break Destinations: After College

Spring Break Destinations: After College

There is nothing like a good old fashioned college spring break. As a college graduate, one of the many things I miss about university life is spring break. A group of us would always get together and go somewhere exotic. But what about spring break after college?

As an adult, getting wasted on cheap Mexican tequila in Cabo doesn’t sound like quite as much fun. (Not saying I wouldn’t still do it but…) I had to start thinking of places to travel in March that wouldn’t be infested with early-20s-binge drinkers. And thus I have compiled by new Spring Break Destination list!

  1. Bend, OR

    BEND

I have mentioned before that Bend is one of the best places to go in the winter. But as Spring rolls around and the bike paths clear, Bend is the perfect Spring Break Destination. We actually went there for my 23rdbirthday which is in March and we had the greatest time ever! And Mt. Bachelor is open year round if you want to get some spring skiing in!

  2. New York, New York

Let’s face it, most college students are too broke to afford a week in New York City. While some may try, the crowds won’t be nearly as wild as down south in Florida. The only downside is that New York is still chilly in March but it is BEAUTIFUL! Bring a scarf and cute beanie and enjoy a frost covered Central Park.

  3. Nashville, TN

Home to  the Jack Daniels Plant and the heart of country music. There is nothing like strolling the streets of Nashville. It is almost as if you can feel the soul of the city in your bones. And no one ever complained about drinking whiskey while hearing the story of our favorite man named Jack.

  4. San Antonio, TX

I may possibly be a little biased on this one. This is where my mom’s family lived when I was growing up so the occasionally 23 hour car ride brought me straight to my favorite place: The San Antonio Riverwalk. If you have never been to the riverwalk, put it on your bucket list and hop on a plane ASAP!! It is by far one of the most amazing places I have ever been. And there is something fun for every age there!

  1. I am in love with your new Spring Break trip list! As an adult I hate the idea of taking a trip down to Florida in March for the sake of all that comes with spring break at the beach, but I love the idea of Bend, New York, and Nashville! I’ve always wanted to go to the latter two. 🙂

  2. This is such a great list. New York would be fun, but you make a great point that it’s pretty pricey for college students. I live In Houston and still need to check out San Antonio. I’ve heard amazing things.
