How to Ask Your Bridesmaids: DIY Bridesmaid Box

Okay, I know that I am not like most brides. I have literally known who my bridesmaids would be since I was 13. And while that list has gotten shorter over the years my real best friends have never changed. So I knew I wanted to give them all a cute a custom bridesmaids box that I didn’t just order from Etsy!

Now-a-days there are a ton of awesome ways to order boxes online! And I am not at all saying you shouldn’t do that. But especially because I knew in advance and had some time to put boxes together, I decided to make them on my own! It took some time but I think it was totally worth it!

In The Bridesmaid Box

I wanted to have these boxes be personalized to each bridesmaid! Even if it was just a couple of simple items. To do that here is what I put in each box:

  • A jar of their favorite candy
  • A metal letter of their first name
  • Matching tank tops for all of us!
  • Custom beer koozie with their name on it
  • A shot glass from New York which is where I got engaged
  • A chalk board that I wrote “Will you be my bridesmaid?”
  • The box is definitely one I know they will all use again!

Now in order to get all of this for each of them I shopped deals for like 6 months! I had an idea of what I wanted to do so anytime I went to Target, Hobby Lobby, or Joanns I would look at sale items! The custom tanks and koozies both came from Just Craftinn Around on Instagram! Eventually I had everything I wanted and began to fill the boxes.

Putting it all together

The tin boxes I used are pretty deep so I knew I would need to fill them up so that everything sat on tip nicely! To do this I just bought pillow stuffing from Joanns and one package was enough to stuff all four boxes! Then I purchased one yard of Hessian Fabric to place on the top of the stuffing so that it looked pretty.

Once the boxes were full of fluff I laid out all the gifts on top! I made sure you could see everything. Then on top I placed the chalk board so that the question was the first thing they saw! It turned out super cute and everyone loved them!

I do have to say that the boxes I did are not ideal for mailing. I had to hand deliver all of them. But since I see my friends all the time it wasn’t a huge deal. But if you do need to mail them I suggest doing something more like the box below! This was a box my best friend put together to ask me to be her Maid of Honor!

Ring Bearer

To ask my ring bearer I Just wanted to do something simple. I bought a Teddy Bear and another chalk board sign identical to the ones in my bridesmaid boxes! It was super easy and he loved it! Momma gets the chalkboard and Noah got the teddy bear!
