The Best Outdoor Summer Activities: In The Water

The Best Outdoor Summer Activities: In The Water
Kayaking

Kayaking is no only great exercise but it can take you to some amazing places! My favorite thing about it is being able to get to sights that otherwise aren’t easy to get to. So grab some friends, grab some beer, and spend a day exploring the river!

Paddle Boarding

Paddle boarding is the same idea as kayaking but your body is much more free. I have seen a lot of amazing and crazy things done on paddle boards including a girl doing yoga on her board in the middle of the river! Impressive? Very.

Swimming

Swimming is an obvious! But I feel like people don’t take advantage of all the awesome places to swim at! Finding natural hot springs, swimming holes, or even a new waterpark in the city I’m in is always an adventure. Just because you may have a pool in your back yard does not mean that there aren’t awesome places to go swim!

Water Polo

Not just water polo but really any water sport is an awesome way to spend your summer days! Sometimes when you get your friends together to play sports in the summer you get hot and dirty and then everyone wants to go home. But if you do a water sport you stay cool and can have fun even longer!

Boating

Boating has so many choices. If you want to relax then stay on the boat and enjoy the view. But if you want an adventure grab so tubes, wake boards, water skis and strap onto the back of the boat and enjoy the wake! Just make sure you always wear your life jacket!

Jet Skiing

Jet skiing is fun no matter who you are. There is nothing like speeding across the top of the water but feeling like you are on top of the world. Grab a buddy and race around the lake or just take the jet skis to the end of the river and enjoy the view, I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed!

Fishing

Fishing is one of the most relaxing this to do on the water. Wake up super early and get there just as the sun starts to rise. Take your boat out into the best fishing hole and sit back and relax. Honestly there is nothing that sounds better on a hot summer day than sitting in the middle of the water just taking in the sun and breeze. Bonus if you actually catch fish!

Floating

No I don’t just mean laying in a tube and floating in the pool. Even though that is another great summer activity. But I mean floating the river!! This is one of my favorite things to do. If you live by a river and haven’t taken advantage of the summer floating then you are missing out! It is a summer activity that never gets too crazy but it is always a good time.

Surfing

If you live by the ocean then I can only hope that most of your free time is spent on the beach. And if you spend all your time on the beach then it only makes sense to learn to surf! I don’t even live by a beach but I definitely take advantage of the waves when I do have them! And if you’re like me and don’t life by a beach, find an indoor surfing rider and learn the moves so that you’ll be ready for the real waves the next time you travel to the coast!

Canoeing

Canoeing is great because it is a group activity and an awesome thing to do if you’ve got 4 or 5 friends that all want to be on the river together! You just need a large canoe, some ores, and teamwork! Maybe this should be your next work bonding activity? Way better than ice breakers.

Rafting

White Water Rafting Trip

MY FAVORITE SUMMER ACTIVITY! Rafting is seriously one of the most fun activities I have ever done. It is something that is exciting and relaxing. You have your rapids that can get insane! But you also have opportunities to get out of the raft and just float in the river. And being in the water, enjoying life is honestly the best part about summer time.

Moral of this post is that it doesn’t really matter what you do but you have got to do something! Get outside, get your friends or family, and take advantage of summer while it is here!

Always adventure,
