Australia is a land full of adventures, and some of them are truly unforgettable. Spending a night in a pub in the outback can be a real eye-opener, socializing with the local farmers, billionaires, movie stars and anyone else that happens to be passing by. Rock climbing and waters sports abound all around the coastal areas, and for the really adventurous there are extreme sports such as bungee jumping.

Whether you are in the North, South, East or West you will find adventures for all ages and interests.

A signed trail will lead you through El Questro in the Kimberly and take you to the lush green area of Zebedee Springs. Catching the morning sun here really is a sight to behold, with butterflies and birds flying around the small waterfall as they welcome a new day.

You can relax in the 32-degree waters or take a hike through the tough terrain to El Questro Gorge.

Hancock Gorge, Western Australia

Climbing down Hancock Gorge makes you feel as though you are going to the center of the earth. There are ladders bolted to the rock walls and when you reach the creek at the bottom you are surrounded by rock walls of varying heights. The gorge then gets very narrow and you have to swim through some chest-deep water to reach the beach. Then it widens again forming what looks like a bowl of emerald water.

The whole journey takes about an hour, but there are not many places in the world where you can sit surrounded by rocks that are more than 2.5 billion years old.

Imagine sailing over the largest living structure in the world with all of its beautiful fish and coral that you will not see anywhere else, on one of the glass bottom boat tours. There is snorkeling and diving available as well, but sitting back and relaxing while you watch it all happening beneath you is an experience you will never forget.

This train, known as the Ghan, takes three days to travel from Darwin to Adelaide, and vice versa. This is a trip right across the country and will take you through deserts and tropics along the way. It does stop to let you look around Alice Springs and Katherine, but these are only for a short time.

The train itself is luxurious and has stewards on-call all the time. There is nothing quite like the experience of enjoying your meal while the world passes by, and with a top class service from all of the staff, this really is the best train journey you will ever make.

Adventures in Australia

People have different ideas of what constitutes an adventure. Basically. if it is something you have never done before, then it is an adventure of life. They do not have to be dangerous or hazardous, they just need to be something you will always remember, and there is no shortage of such things in Australia.
