My favorite meal of the day is breakfast! And if I’m craving something sweet for breakfast, then I am most definitely making french toast! French Toast is by far my favorite! Especially when its made on sourdough bread! This Sourdough French Toast recipe is easy and delicious!
This recipe also perfect for toddlers that won’t eat eggs. The eggs are baked onto the bread so the taste and texture are covered up. I serve it with some maple sausage, and my toddler is in heaven!
Garnish with powdered sugar and some maple syrup will really send this recipe over the top! or top with an easy mixed berry compote from the recipe below! I like to eat mine with an egg and some turkey bacon. How will you enjoy it?

Sourdough French Toast
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 c milk
- 1/2 Tbs vanilla
- 1/2 Tbs cinnamon
- powdered sugar for garnish
- your favorite sourdough bread
- coconut oil for greasing the griddle
Directions:
- If your sourdough is long, cut it in half.
- In a bowl mix the eggs, vanilla, cinnamon and milk with a fork.
- Heat up a griddle and grease with coconut oil.
- Place the bread in the egg mixture, then flip and soak the other side.
- Immediately place on the hot griddle and cook until the side down looks firm and golden, then flip and repeat on other side.
- Top with powdered sugar and maple syrup or the berry commute from the recipe below.
Berry Compote Recipe
- 1 c Frozen Mixed Berries
- 2 Tbs sugar
Directions:
Heat both in a sauce pan together, stirring occasionally until cooked down into a sauce.
